Mentors volunteer to spend 1 hour a week with a child from Kapaa Elementary School.

1 Hour a Week – 1 Child – 1 Mentor

• The public elementary school identifies children who may need a little extra attention. They get permission from the parents/guardians for the child to be mentored.
• The church provides adults who will be reliable in spending an hour each week with the child.
• Training is required and will be provided by Common Grace or the local church. Background checks are done on all volunteers.
• Mentors are matched up with a child mentee.
• They meet weekly for approximately an hour.
• The strategy is simple, straight-forward and effective.
